    • Welcome to my 40+ life

Hello and welcome! For me, life really did begin at 40. This has been the decade where I’ve learned the most about myself and been brave enough to become the person I was always meant to be. Like most women in their 40s, I've been on quite a journey, and have always written about my experiences as a way of processing them.

There's something very healing and powerful about sharing our stories. For years, I was the one reading blogs for comfort, guidance and support. Helping someone by sharing mine was always my dream and your comments and messages have brought me huge joy. Please subscribe by clicking at the bottom of any of my blogs so that you don't miss anything, and follow me on social media to see all my content - all links below :) .

      Thank you!

In my thirties, I used to feel knackered a lot and I’d live for my Saturday lie in. These days I’ll happily get up early at the weekend to do something running-related. I’m always up with the lark for the Saturday Parkrun followed by a nice, sociable cuppa, and on Sunday I was in Pontefract by...
The emotionally-charged standing ovation for Rob Burrow was a privilege I’ll never ever forget.

I think I said in my last blog that I was looking forward to getting back to normal after my Dad’s 70th birthday celebrations. That very much included a return to running, and it was a baptism of fire on Tuesday when I did my first Jane Tomlinson Canal Run, hosted by my running club. With over...
